The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Medicine at the University of
Geneva (www.unige.ch/medecine/mimo/en) is seeking to support outstanding candidates who are
planning on submitting an application for a SNSF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship (Deadline
The successful candidate will conduct an independent line of research in Geneva,
Switzerland, to strengthen fundamental research in one of the existing disciplines of the
department, i.e., Bacteriology, Parasitology, or Virology.
Eccellenza and PRIMA fellowships are aimed at researchers who have a doctorate or
equivalent qualification pursuing an academic career. The grants cover the grantee's salary and
project costs for a five-year period (www.snf.ch).
The successful candidate will hold the rank of a non-tenure track assistant professor at the
Faculty of Medicine. Women scientists are encouraged to apply, as the University takes
appropriate measures in favor of the underrepresented gender.
